This checker needs JavaScript. The same answer in one sentence: Steam players can only play with other Steam players. Xbox console, PC Game Pass and Microsoft Store copies all share one pool and can play with each other. Full table on the crossplay page.

The rule behind the answer

There are two matchmaking pools, not four. Steam is one pool by itself. Xbox Series X|S, PC Game Pass and a bought Microsoft Store copy are the second pool — they interoperate because of Xbox Play Anywhere. Nothing crosses between the two.
